I decided to do a hero shot of the Waspbot. So here it is. The light setup is a simple soft box arrangement of self illuminated planes. The waspbot is sat on a curved back drop that also serves as a floor. The render engine I used was fryrender.
Final shot of the wasp on its own. I am happy in the way it came out. Now I am making a little scene with the waspbot and the antbot I made some time ago. I want to create an artificial scene for them.
Texturing. I used a checker bump for the black areas to create a carbon feel and look to them. The yellow parts are plastic with some fall off to the reflection. These where textured and rendered solely in cinema 4d using AR3
Here is a concept I drew up some time ago and thought it was time to actually model it. I am using MOI to model it. MOI is a very powerful nurbs modeler, that I have just bought to help with certain modeling projects. I must say I am really starting to enjoy working in it.
And here are two flash light versions of the room. I made a little cube for the bulb, with a strong fryrender emitter on it. This was placed into a opened cone with flipped faces. This has a mirror chrome material added to it so it could act as a real world reflector.
Converted the materials to Fryernder and used the physical sky and sun to render the final images below. I added a glare/bloom map to the camera to give the hazey feel to the light. I thought this would help give it an overall more natural feeling.
More details being added. I feel that these give the room a more natural feeling and worth adding Added a rug. I painted the texture in photoshop and gave it a high bump value using a noise map
